What a difference a metre makes...
Psht! Back from the abyss. Only it wasn't the usual physical or mental abyss, merely the lack of about a metre of cable. Hmph. I disliked it! I like my diary, and I love my friends here.

Come hell or high water I wouldn't have missed Alice's alicesbaby entry today. I am still very happy about her news. Just *because* real, makes it all more real.

OK, I am talking about news that makes an on-line friend's pregnancy seem more real to ME. The net is a strange thing.

I've been up to lots, since last week when I had literally nothing to say! Friday, I got completely blotto on a glass of red wine, a G&T and half another glass of wine. My Mother had to put me to bed, for the first time in my drinking career! At 22! Sigh. I did have a good night though, really great. My friends from home kick ass. They are so lovely, and as we get old, we become so diverse, but we always get on as if we'd never been apart.

I took the car and didn't drink on Saturday. Wisdom comes quickly.

We had a family party on Sunday, at my Aunt's house. A good time was had by all, to my surprise. Sometimes, family is just plain stressful. But these, in some cases, are great aunts and uncles I haven't seen in years. It was great to flirt and be charming for a day. I am such a show off!! I'm like a performing seal when I get going. Grandad admired my red shoes for hours - he is the sort of person who raves about things, interspered with loud 'Coo!'s. I damn well love my red shoes too!

Monday was HARD!!! Dad and I went to Mordor to clear all my stuff, and clean my old house. Ekky fump, that was a big job!! Seven hours later it was done. I had to leave all my pans behind, because there wasn't space for so much as a match in the car once my rubbish had boarded. The stuff festered in the car for a further two days before either of us could face the sight of it again.

That brings us to yesterday, when I drove to visit my friend Mia. We took her dog for a walk in a nice big park at the stately home. This is a different occasion to walks with Bob's parent's Goldendog! It involved quietly wandering around smelling smells (for Ben, not us). Not a stick was thrown, not a mile was run, and not a puddle disturbed. Very different. Still love Golden more though. He is lots of fun. It was really good to see Mia, she is currently dealing with landlords over a house for her and her boyfriend Rocco to rent. This is a stressful buisness. Hot chocolate with cream on top is not stressful, however, so we had one each. We also crammed in a trip to the city centre for buying a lovely top and mega cheap earrings (the Debenhams sale is ridiculous). It was nice.

I haven't done much today...had my hair cut by my mum's hairdresser (thankfully did not come out with a perm and set), and loitered online excessively for Ali's news.

So that's my week! Time is tripping away quite nicely, even without Bob. Next week should bring thrills and spills of its own, but that's another story.
