10:42 p.m. - Tuesday, Apr. 13, 2004 My baby niece is so beautiful! I love her a great deal. I've been missing her a lot since she left - her warm little self and her slightly sour milky smell and her soft brown hair. And, while she's lots of work - only happy if you're standing up and dancing and singing to her - I am choc full of hormones just wanting to make a baby of my own. As she slept on me, or I looked at her little gums as she bawled, I felt all funny and empty inside my womb. I love our little girl! The worst wrench was when I was holding her yesterday morning - only yesterday! - and was just about to hand her over for her feed. She was a cross girl from being hungry, but as a slipped her to the horizontal to hand her over, she thought a drink from my boob might be forthcoming. She quietened immeadiately, opened her little mouth into a nipple shape and banged her head against my chest in encouragment. At that moment I really could have beetled off with her into the sunset. It might be 15 weeks before I see her again! Waah! Only we've got finals coming up now, and then Bob's going away. I just hope our family recognises I can be AuntyMeg even while UncleBob is on the other side of the world. Otherwise, Middlebro came with his girlfriend, and my goodness they couldn't keep heir hands off each other. It made me really angry and uncomfortable, but didn't seem to worry anyone else. Now I am worried I am some sort of prudish freak. I'm certain I don't fancy him. It was a fine weekend on the whole, time with Bob, and his parents' wonderful dog, and our brothers and sisters, and our baby niece is always nice. I have, however learnt, that ten people in one house is something of a squeeze. It also does not pay to be the youngest as lilos on the living room floor can never quite match the comfort of a bed. It did add another place to our conquest list though.
