Rwandan anniversary
I am annoyed. The damn college had the cheek to be PERFECT. How dare it!? I was determined to be apathetic and not care either way, and the flipping place is only beautiful, with a great course, great people, great accomodation.

I am cross with it. My hopes are up AGAIN! Hmph.

I cheered up after the other night, despite all the Rwandan genocide footage. I have to say the women in that country are amazing. During the genocide they only survived by being used for r a p e and now they are dying in their thousands from AIDS. These are women who've watched their husbands, parents, sons and daughters hacked to pieces, and carry on. They are strong, dignified women who have picked up the pieces of their country and sewed them back together. It's so sad that the international community isn't doing more to treat their illnesses, care for the orphans they work with and listen to their stories. It's weird world when some women live life like that and I have a good cry because I have to take my knitting back a few rows.
